Adding and managing subtitles for your video is easy and can be done through various options depending on your situation. Here's how you can handle subtitles in different scenarios:
1. I Already Have a Subtitle File for My Video in the Source Language & For Target/Translated Language📝
If you already have an SRT subtitle file for your video in the original language or target language, you can upload it directly to the platform:
Create Your Project 🛠️: Start by creating your project on the platform.
Upload Your SRT File ⬆️: During the creation process, to find these options, you typically navigate to the Advanced Settings (the right-hand sidebar shown in the GIF).
3. Upload Source Subtitle File (.SRT)
The Input: You upload an
.srtfile that matches the original audio (e.g., a Tamil script for a Tamil video). Why it's useful: Instead of the AI "guessing" what was said through transcription, it uses your provided text as the source of truth. This eliminates "hallucinations" where the AI might mishear a word.
Constraint: Files must typically be under 2 MB, which is more than enough for even feature-length films.
4. Toggle "Till Translation" or "End-to-End":
Once one of these is highlighted in orange, the Custom Script/Upload SRT area in the sidebar will "unlock" or become active.
5. Upload Target Subtitle File (Optional)
The Input: A translated
.srtfile in your target language (e.g., an English script for your Tamil video).
6. Synchronization & Alignment
Once uploaded, the platform uses the time-codes within your .srt file to:
Sync Audio: Ensure the dubbed voice starts and stops exactly when the text appears.
Lip-Syncing: Align the visual mouth movements (if enabled) to the specific pacing of your uploaded script.
NOTE:
SRT Upload is disabled when “Transcript Only” mode is selected. To upload a target-language .srt file, please select either “Till Translation” or “End-to-End Dubbing” mode.
Once you've uploaded your subtitle file, it will be associated with your project.
However, if you don't have subtitles for your video, either in the original language or target languages, don’t worry – you can generate them directly on our platform. 😌
2. I Don’t Have Subtitles for My Video in the Source Language ❓
If you don’t have subtitles for your original video, the platform can help you generate them from the transcript. Follow these steps:
Check the Transcription ✍️: After uploading your video, check the transcription that has been automatically generated by the platform.
Get the SRT or VTT File 📄: A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to "Step 3: Download Mix" and click on "Download Mix". This will allow you to download the subtitle file for the original language of your video (.srt, .vtt or .txt).
You can then use this file for your project.
3. I Want to Create the Translated Subtitles for My Video 🌎
Once you have generated translations and made any necessary edits, you can easily download the subtitles for the target language(s) before generating your voiceover. Here's how:
Generate Translations 🌐: After generating your translations and making any necessary adjustments, go to the top-right corner of your screen and click the "Generate Dubbed Audio" button.
Download Translated Subtitles ⬇️: A dropdown menu will appear. Scroll down to "Step 3: Download Mix" and click on "Download Mix".
This will allow you to download the subtitles in your selected target language(s) for your video. 🎬
With these simple steps, you can easily upload, generate, and download subtitles for both the original and translated languages of your video. Happy editing! 😊
