What are Subtitles? π
Subtitles are written words on a screen. They show what people are saying. They also describe sounds in a video or movie.
How Can I Manage Subtitles for My Video? π
You can easily add, create, and save subtitles for your videos. This includes both the original language and translated languages. Here's how to handle them:
β
1. I Already Have Subtitles in My Video's Original Language. What Do I Do? π€
If you have a subtitle file (an .srt file) in your video's first language, you can upload it.
Step 3:
Source Language SRT File
This is the subtitle file in the original language of the video.
Only .srt files are supported, and the maximum file size is 2 MB.
Target Language for SRT Upload
Select the language into which the subtitles have been translated.
Target Language SRT File
Upload the translated subtitle (.srt) file for the selected target language.
2. I Already Have Subtitles in a Translated Language. What Do I Do? π
You can upload subtitle files for other languages too. This is just like uploading original subtitles.
Important: You can choose many languages to translate into. But you can only upload subtitles for one translated language at a time.
If you donβt have subtitles in the original or translated language, no worries β you can create them right on our platform. π
β3. I Don't Have Subtitles in My Video's Original Language. What Can I Do? π
No problem! The platform can create subtitles for you. It uses the words spoken in your video.
Step 1: Upload your video. The platform will automatically write down what is said. This is called a transcript.
Step 2: Check if the transcript is correct.
Step 3: Click "Generate Translations" in the top-right corner.
Step 4: A menu will appear. Go to "Download"
βStep 5: You can save the subtitle file (like
.srtor.vtt) for your original language.
β
4. I Want to Create Translated Subtitles for My Video. How Do I Do It? π₯
After you translate your video and make any changes, you can download the subtitles. This is for the new language (or languages).
Step 1: After you translate and edit.
Step 2: Goto Download.
Step 3: You will get your translated subtitles.
Tip: If you are using AI dubbing, you can download subtitles based on the dubbing translation. If you want to work only on subtitles, switch to "Subtitles Mode." Changes in one mode do not affect the other.
β5. I Want to Work Only on Subtitles for My Videos. How Can I Do That? π₯
If you only want to make and change subtitles, you can use "Subtitles Mode." This mode has special subtitle settings.
Step 1: Upload your original video. Check the transcript if you don't have original subtitles.
Step 2: Click the settings icon.
Step 3: In Project Settings, under Project Modes.
Step 4: Select "Switch to Subtitles Mode."
Note: Switching to "Subtitles Mode" turns off voiceover tools. But all subtitle tools stay on.
Step 5: You must first generate subtitles for the source language before generating subtitles for the translated or target language. Click on "Generate Subtitles" to generate.
Step 5: First, select Sync Subtitles to create subtitles by syncing them from the existing dub dialogues. This option works best when your voiceovers are already generated and properly timed.
Alternatively, choose Translate Now to generate new subtitles by translating the source language into the selected target language.
Add or choose your target language. Click "Generate Translation."
Step 6: Wait for a message that says it's done. This message appears at the bottom-right.
Step 7: After translation, you can change the text for your subtitles under Project Settings like Font, Font Size, Colour & Position. And click 'Update' to see the changes.
Step 8: You can download your subtitle file right away. Click Download to export your subtitles in different file formats, as shown in the image.
