What does the term "Text Recognition" refer to? 🖼️➡️📄

Text Recognition means finding and changing printed or handwritten text from images, scanned documents into editable and searchable digital text.

  1. Printed or Handwritten Text → Digital Text

    • Converting scanned documents, images, or PDFs that contain text into editable and searchable text.

    • Example: Scanning a paper invoice and extracting the text into Word or Excel.

  2. Image or Video → Text Extraction

    • Detecting text that appears inside photos, screenshots, or videos.

    • Example: Identifying road signs or captions in a video frame.

How does Text Recognition work? 🔍🔡

  • From the left-hand menu, click on Text Recognition under the TOOLS section.

  • You’ll see a box in the center with the option “Drag-N-Drop file, or click to upload”.

  • Upload your document (only .pdf format is allowed).

  • Once uploaded, the system will prepare the file for recognition.

  • At the bottom of the screen, press the Convert button to start the text recognition process.

  • After conversion, the extracted text will be available for you to view, copy, or download.
